IDP Education Pty Ltd (IDP) conducts industry and sector-wide
research; analyses market and policy developments; and monitors
industry trends in Australia and abroad for the benefit of: the
industry at large, our students and our client institutions. IDP
contributes to developments in the industry through participation
in industry forums and policy reviews, and informally through
relationships with industry policy makers and stakeholders and
membership and support of an extensive network of Professional
Associations and peak bodies.
In October each year at the Australian International Education
Conference (AIEC) IDP’s Research Services releases its major piece
of industry research. Last year in 2007 the forecasting study
Global Student Mobility: An Australian Perspective Five
Years On was released, building on two previous studies in
this field.
At this year’s AIEC held in Brisbane, Research Services released
its latest publication Outcomes and Impacts of
International Education: From International Student to Australian
Graduate, the Journey of a Lifetime.
Research Services also conducts a biannual survey of
International Students Enrolled in Australia’s Universities. This
database provides universities and the industry with national,
state and institutional reports. The survey is in its twelfth year
and as such is the only comprehensive database capturing
international student numbers in Australian universities both on
and offshore.
