The value of international education to Australia
In 2007/08, international education contributed $13.7 billion to
the Australian economy, measured through export earnings, which is
the sum of international student expenditure on tuition fees, goods
and services related to living in Australia and tourism associated
with visits from relatives. The chart below shows that education is
now the third largest export earner for Australia.
