The majority of international students in Australia are full-fee
paying students not covered by any scholarship. Prospective
students should be aware that the number of scholarships available
for international students is limited and the competition is
intense.
Students considering applying for a scholarship should ensure
they meet the selection criteria of specific scholarships, fully
understand the terms and conditions of the scholarship, and apply
by the closing date specified.
Scholarships are offered by the Australian government, students'
home-country governments, Australian education institutions and
private organisations.
While IDP Education does not fund scholarships, we can point you
in the right direction to make your search for scholarship
easier.
Scholarships administered by IDP
Some special programs are co-administered by IDP and these
can be accessed from the menu on the left.
After your application is received, the project officer at
IDP checks whether your application is eligible, that all the
documents and requested copies are submitted and submitted in
time.
A copy of your application is then sent off to the selection
committee. Applications are ranked by each selection committee
member. A teleconference is held between all members of the
selection committee and final nominations are decided. Final
nominees are sent on to the funding body for final approval and
unsuccessful applicants are informed.
Please note, once the selection committee's decision has been
made, and successful and unsuccessful applicants are informed, no
further discussion will be entered into. If you are not successful
you can try again the following year, or apply to alternative
awards.
