The event was co-hosted by the Regional Director of IDP
Education Middle East and the President of the Arab Academy for
Science, Technology and Maritime Transport (AASTMT).
AASTMT is the service provider and test venue for IDP IELTS in
Egypt.
The event’s guest speakers were His Excellency Dr Ralph King,
the Australian Ambassador to Egypt and Mr John Belleville, IDP
IELTS Global Director.
In his welcome address, Maher El Bakry, IDP Middle East Regional
Director (pictured right), provided an introduction to IDP
Education’s services and highlighted the cooperation with the Arab
Academy in offering IELTS testing in Egypt.
His Excellency Professor Abdel Ghaffar, AASTMT President,
expressed his pleasure with the partnership with IDP Education to
expand the Arab Academy’s educational services to Egyptian and Arab
students.
His Excellency Dr King, spoke of Australia’s nature as a
relatively new nation with diverse ethnic and cultural mix which
offers a great learning environment for international students.
John Belleville delivered a short presentation outlining IELTS’s
strong and continuously growing profile and its role in providing
aspiring young people with opportunities for education, work and
migration.
The event was attended by around 80 guests from the education
industry including Presidents and Vice Presidents of private
universities, Deans of language faculties, representatives of US
Aid, Fulbright and the Australian Embassy in Cairo.
IDP Education has opened its first IELTS test center in Cairo
following growing demand for English testing in Egypt.
In addition to the new Cairo office, IDP Education has responded
to demand for its trusted services across the Middle East with new
IELTS test centres in Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, Oman,
Libya, Jordan and Azerbaijan.
