Sydney boasts five major universities that are recognised worldwide for academic excellence in research and training. Four of the five universities mentioned rank in the top ten Australian universities. Most campuses are located in the inner city areas of Sydney but others are in the city’s northern and western suburbs.
The University of Sydney is one of the best in the world, consistently ranking in the top 50 world universities. The main campus is located on the outskirts of the city centre making it easy to travel to and from.
The University of South New Wales (UNSW) campus is located in Kensington, several kilometers south of the city, and only a short drive away from popular Coogee Beach. UNSW is known for its high quality education and research.
Western Sydney University has several campuses in key areas around Greater Western Sydney. This school has received high ratings against other Sydney universities.
Macquarie University is comprised or a large international student body, with more than a third of students coming to study there, from abroad. Its main campus is in Sydney’s northern inland area.
The University of Technology Sydney is known for its extensive programs in business, arts, design and engineering.
Sydney is also home to a number of other tertiary institutions that also provide great opportunities for international students.

Many international students want to work while studying and Sydney is great when it comes to job opportunities. Sydney is known for its quaint coffee houses, gourmet cafes and lively bars where part – time jobs are plentiful.

There are plenty of things to enjoy while in Sydney. Visit the world - famous Sydney Opera House, see the Sydney Harbour Bridge, take a ferry across the beautiful harbour to Sydney’s northern beaches, or attend one of the many annual festivals and activities on all year round.
