Win 6 months of free rent contest

 Terms and Conditions

1. General 

1.1. IDP Education Limited (IDP) (ABN: 59 117 676 463 of Level 8, 535 Bourke St Melbourne VIC 3000) is giving away six (6) months free rent valued up to AUD$10,000 (inclusive of GST) in “Win 6 months of free rent” (Competition).

1.2. The Competition is administered by the IDP employees (Administrators).

1.3. The Competition commences on 15 April 2019 at 12:00 am AEST and closes on 20 June 2019 at 11:59 pm AEST (Competition Period). Any entry that is not received during the Competition Period will be deemed invalid.
1.4. Information about the Competition, including how to enter and the prize to be won, form part of these Terms and Conditions. Each entrant warrants that they have read, understood and agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. Entries must meet all Terms and Conditions to be eligible.

2. Conditions of entry

2.1. The Competition will be available to eligible students via (Website). 

2.2. For an entry to be valid, the eligible student must answer the questions set out on the Website. 

3. Who can enter

3.1. The Competition is open to all international students, commencing studies in Australia must be over 18 and on a student visa.

3.2. The following persons are not eligible to enter the Competition: domestic students, IDP employees and personnel, IDP family, permanent residents, Australian citizens.

4. How to enter

4.1. Entries may be submitted from 15 April 2019 at 12:00 am AEST and close on 20 June 2019 at 11:59 pm AEST. After this date, no further entries to the Competition will be permitted.

4.2. To enter, the entrant must answer the questions on the Website. The eligible student must tell us in 25 words or less what they would spend the extra cash on and why. Entries must be submitted in English.

4.3. Eligible students can only enter the Competition once.

4.4. No responsibility is accepted for entries that are not received for whatever reason, including lost, late or misdirected entries.

4.5. IDP is not responsible for technical difficulties with the entry mechanism and does not warrant that the entry mechanisms will always be available.

5. Payment

5.1. There is no entry fee and no purchase required to enter this Competition.

6. Prize

6.1. The prize is six (6) months of student accommodation rent paid for to a maximum value of AUD$10,000 (inclusive of GST), to be used in the period between 1 July 2019 – 30 June 2020. If the AUD$10,000 (inclusive of GST) has been exhausted prior to the six (6) months rental period ending, the student will be responsible for paying the outstanding amount for accommodation, directly to the accommodation provider.

6.2. The prize is only redeemable for rental properties.

6.3. Upon acceptance of the prize, the student must agree to the relevant terms and conditions and contractual obligations of the relevant accommodation provider.

6.4. The funds will be paid directly to the accommodation provider. No funds will be paid directly to the student or other party.

6.5. In the unlikely event that the prize is not available, IDP reserves the right to offer an alternative prize of equal or similar value. No refunds will be given if the winner does not utilise the prize or any part of it.

6.6. The prize cannot be transferred or exchanged for its cash value.

6.7. The prize value is correct as at the date of printing.

6.8. IDP accepts no responsibility for circumstances beyond its control that may change aspects of the prize.

7. Winner Selection

7.1. One (1) prize winner will be selected from all valid entries. Entries will be judged on creativity and originality by IDP Student Services Australia employees.

7.2. IDP reserves the right to verify the validity of entries and may in its sole discretion disqualify any entrant it believes has subverted or attempted to subvert the entry process or who submits an entry not in accordance with these Terms and Conditions.

7.3. The winner will be selected by 5:00pm AEST 30 June 2019. IDP will notify the winner by telephone and email within five (5) working days. The winner must claim their prize within fourteen (14) days of the date of notification. Prizes will be collected, via email pending validation. 

7.4. The winner’s name will be published on IDP’s website and other social media channels.

7.5. The winner will be required to provide identification and supporting documentation necessary to prove they comply with these Terms and Conditions.

7.6. If the winner cannot be reached by IDP within fourteen (14) days using the contact information provided at the time of entry, that winner shall forfeit the prize. 

7.7. All decisions concerning the Competition are final. No feedback will be provided. No correspondence will be entered into about the submission or selection processes, or any other aspect of the Competition, or its administration, except for correspondence initiated by the Competition Administrators.

8. Copyright

8.1. Each entrant grants to IDP a world-wide, royalty-free, non-exclusive licence (including the right to sub-licence) in perpetuity to distribute, license, use and otherwise exploit the entrant’s content, or any part thereof, in any and all media, whether known or hereafter devised.

8.2. In participating in the Competition, the winner agree to participate and co-operate as required in all editorial activities relating to the Competition, including but not limited to being interviewed, photographed and social media activity. The winner grants IDP a license to use any footage and photographs of the winner and the winner will receive no fee if material is used.

9. Privacy

9.1. By entering the Competition, you will provide IDP with your contact details and you agree to be contacted via email, telephone or other similar means.

9.2. Your personal information will be managed in accordance with the IDP’s Privacy Policy at: 

9.3. The name of the winner of the Competition will be published by IDP and may be shared by IDP on its Facebook, Instagram and other social media platforms.

9.4. Entrants may be contacted for marketing purposes.

10. Exclusion of liability

10.1. IDP makes no representation nor provides any warranties as to the quality, suitability   or merchantability of the prize offered.

10.2. IDP is not responsible for any losses associated with any change to the value of any of the prizes.

10.3. To the maximum extent permitted by law, IDP is not liable for any loss suffered or sustained by any entrant or any other person however caused including but not limited to consequential (including economic) loss by reason of any act or omissions, deliberate or negligent, by IDP, its employees or its contractors or its agents in connection with supply of the prize awarded to the prize winner.

10.4. IDP’s decision on all matters pertaining to this Competition will be final.

10.5. IDP is under no obligation to provide reasons for any of its decisions.

10.6. IDP is under no obligation to engage in any form of correspondence whatsoever with entrants or their representatives in matters relating to the Competition.

10.7. A prize must be taken as offered and cannot be varied.

10.8. A winner may be liable to declare a prize for tax purposes. IDP takes no responsibility for any tax payable on a prize.  If any tax is payable on a prize it is the sole responsibility of the winner. 

10.9. IDP accepts no responsibility if the prize is lost, stolen, damaged or tampered with in any way.

10.10. IDP does not take responsibility for misdirected mail or mail received late and IDP will not be liable for any loss resulting from transit of the prize.

11. Inconsistency

11.1. To the extent that there is any inconsistency between these Terms and Conditions and any other published material, these Terms and Conditions will prevail. By participating in the Competition, each entrant acknowledges that these Terms and Conditions are legally binding.

12. Termination

12.1. IDP may terminate this Competition for any reason without notice.
