Sunraysia Institute of TAFE is one of the largest providers of vocational education and training in north-west Victoria. SuniTAFE today is a vibrant institute .A small TAFE with a large reach, the Institute was established in 1980 as a result of the dream of local educators who saw the introduction of post-secondary education to the district as being integral to the needs of the growing community and regional industry. It’s Institute is in the far north-west corner of Victoria and it is the largest government funded training provider in the region. It has nearly 8000 local students and many international students studying from 16 countries.
Sunraysia Institute of TAFE is able to provide a wide range of courses to help prospective students become work ready because it is the largest provider of vocational education and training in the north-west of Victoria. The major industries in the region are horticulture, health and welfare, retail, business, building and construction, and engineering. At SuniTAFE ,it offers a cross section of courses that are recognised as growth areas in the region that the Institute serves – that is from Mildura to Ouyen, Swan Hill and Robinvale. Some of the courses that it offers in areas of skills shortages are in horticulture, conservation and land management, irrigation, business, transport and distribution, health and community services, commercial cookery and hospitality, building and construction, engineering, automotive and other trades. The Institute also specialises in multimedia, visual arts and language and literacy training.
Sunraysia Institute of TAFE has campuses for international students in both Mildura and Swan Hill. The two cities share many characteristics such as their warm sunny climate and clear blue skies, and although they are 235 kilometres apart both cities are located on the picturesque Murray River.
