The University of Adelaide English Language Centre
The English Language Centre (ELC) is part of the University of Adelaide's Centre for Professional & Continuing Education (PCE) and offers a range of General and Academic English language programs, study tour programs and English teacher training services (TESOL) for international students and visiting groups. The English Language Centre is proud to be the winner of the 2016 English Australia Award for Contribution to Professional Practice.
At the ELC you will receive individual attention and support from highly-qualified teachers who are passionate about students achieving their best. You will benefit from having access to a wide range of high-quality facilities and support services whilst with them. Facilities include the University of Adelaide’s modern Hub Central complex, a space designed for students with 24 hours weekday access to computers, meeting rooms, cafes and restaurants and an excellent opportunity to interact with other students. A key ingredient for their classes is enjoyment. You will have the opportunity to meet students from across the world and they offer a broad range of ELC Social Club activities and events to help you make friends and experience Australian culture. ELC has situated in the heart of Adelaide, in the business, shopping and cultural district, an area surrounded by parklands and gardens and bordered by the River Torrens. They are focussed on helping to prepare their students for their goals beyond the classroom, whether University study, work or personal interest. You will have ongoing assessment and reports based on your performance and will receive individual attention from your teachers to help you succeed in your studies.
The English Language Centre is close to many city attractions such as Rundle Mall, the National Wine Centre, a vast range of cafes and restaurants, the Botanic Gardens, River Torrens, Adelaide Zoo, and the Central Markets. There is also a range of public transport to Glenelg and other surrounding towns. For more information on Adelaide and its attractions please see the South Australian Tourism Commission website.
