The Wellington Institute of Technology or WelTec is a public New Zealand polytechnic based in Petone, Lower Hutt. WelTec was formed by an amalgamation between the Central Institute of Technology and the Hutt Valley Polytechnic in 2001.At WelTec their job is to ensure that the skills they teach are relevant for your success, in the future as well as today. Their main campus is located in central Petone, minutes’ walk from the esplanade and Jackson Street. The campus is easily accessible via bus from either Upper Hutt or Wellington city and is about 15 minutes walking distance from Petone Railway Station. There is onsite parking available.
