View full cost of livingAbout Whitefriars College Inc
Whitefriars College was established as a Catholic Secondary School for boys by the Carmelite Order of Priests and Brothers in 1961. This was in response to local Catholic families creating a strong demand for schools which would educate their children in the tradition of their faith. While they warmly welcome families from all denominations who believe in the opportunities that Whitefriars has to offer, they have always remained a Catholic school in the Carmelite tradition.
Education at Whitefriars College is inspiring, engaging, purposeful, safe and nurturing to allow each boy to achieve personal excellence, confidence and an understanding of the changing world around them. The single gender environment creates opportunities for boys to feel valued and respected in their journey from boy into ?gentle? men of integrity.
Whitefriars College is situated on the outskirts of Melbourne, a cosmopolitan city of 4 million people in the south-east corner of Australia. In the peace and tranquillity of 19 hectares of natural bushland, boys from Years 7 to 12 are educated in a caring and challenging atmosphere by the Carmelite Order and its staff.
