To pursue career-oriented studies or to work abroad, it is required that aspirants’ IELTS result is declared and he/she could present a valid report card. All the result-related details for Bangladesh IELTS takers are as under:

IELTS website takes approximately 13 days to render IELTS results online. On the day of publication, results can be accessed after 2:00 PM. The results can be obtained over the phone, email, post or fax too. The results can be checked online for not more than 28 days after the publication. The copy of the result is known as Test Report Form.

The TRF (Test Report Forms)

Each candidate is issued only one IELTS test report form. The validity of the test report form is two years. After this stipulated period of time, you need to give proof to the institution that you have either maintained or improved your English since the test. You need to pay extra courier costs, in case you lose the form and need a new one sent to the immigration authorities or universities.

Sending the TRF for the institutes

The TRF can be sent to the university or visa office. There are three options that you can choose from - International Courier, post and electronic. The IELTS exam results will take a maximum of four working days to reach the university. Delivery of TRF could be tracked through the tracking number of the parcel.

To the first five addresses, the result is delivered for free through the post. After that, extra charges will be applicable. There are no tracking numbers, given for the posted TRFs. However, a specific timeline is mentioned. Generally, the stipulated time for this process is three weeks.

Some institutes, which are subscribed to receive the IELTS scores, do not require the original copies of TRFs. They can directly view the scores online.

Details of querying the score

You can apply to the Enquiry on Results (EOR) Service if you believe that there is a mistake in your results and need the test to be re-marked. The application must be made within 6 weeks of the date of your test. To appeal for remarking, you will need to pay a separate fee. This amount is refunded if there are changes in your IELTS score. If the score remains constant, this fee is forfeited. The review request is separately made for the different sections of exam, directly from the website. It may take up to ten days in the announcement of the new verdict.

Re-taking the test

The test can be retaken for any number of times. It must be mentioned that for the betterment of scores you need to undertake more training on the language.

The scoring system of IELTS

IELTS test results are provided for all sections separately. For each of the parts, a score of zero to 9 is given. The scores are accepted by all institutions, businesses and governments in the English-speaking countries. Passing equation may vary from institution to institution. Generally, an average of 6.5, with a band score above or equal to 6 in each of the 4 sections, is considered as passing criteria. Moreover, there is no pass or fail.
