Founded in 1931, Berkeley College is a private academic institution specializing in career-focused education that helps students prepare for professional and personal success in the global business world. The college is comprised of the Larry L. Luing School of Business®, the School of Professional Studies, the School of Health Studies and the School of Liberal Arts. Berkeley College offers education in more than 20 career fields and enrols more than 7,000 students in its Master’s, Bachelor’s, and Associate’s degree and Certificate programs. It has three New York campuses in Midtown Manhattan, Brooklyn and White Plains and four campuses in New Jersey in Newark, Paramus, Woodbridge and Woodland Park.
The college provides supportive professors with real-world industry knowledge, hands-on learning through its internship program, and a variety of supplemental programs and activities. Athletics and recreation play an important part in college life. At Berkeley College, men’s and women’s intercollegiate teams compete in soccer, basketball, tennis and cross-country. Students may also participate in club teams and intramural play in other sports. Berkeley College is a member of the United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA) and the Hudson Valley Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (HVIAC). Some of the organizations available to students include the International Club, United Nations Club, Desi Club, Hispanic Club, Turkish Club, Chinese Student Association, Korean Student Association and Japanese Student Association.
Berkeley College offers many activities that allow students to socialize with other students in order to develop friendships and expand professional networks. Some of its activities include cultural dinners, an international student cruise, a United Nations tour, a Wall Street tour and a fashion museum tour. Its Career Services Department assists students in securing full-time or part-time employment and volunteer opportunities. Career counselors are also available in each major to help students with resume writing and interview coaching, preparation, scheduling, and digital identity. Berkeley College hosts career fairs and campus recruitment days throughout the year.
