Overview

Western Sydney University (WSU) is a research-led university with six campuses located in Greater Western Sydney.

The mission of WSU is to be a university of international standing and outlook, achieving excellence through teaching, learning, research and services to its regional and international communities.

At WSU you can study everything from the more traditional university disciplines such as law, health sciences, teaching, social sciences, and business to innovative courses in emerging fields such as natural sciences, engineering, Chinese medicine, e-business, information technology and digital design.

Another advantage of studying at WSU is that while it is a very big university with an enormous range of courses its unique structure of small campus communities means you can really get to know your fellow students and teaching staff.

WSU campuses are located at: Bankstown, Nirimba (Blacktown), Campbelltown, Hawkesbury, Parramatta and Penrith. All conveniently located between 30 to 90 minutes from the Sydney central business district.

Main Countries of Origin:
International students come to WSU from around the world. However, the majority of students come from the following countries: China (excludes SARs and Taiwan), India, Vietnam, Hong Kong (SAR of China), Saudi Arabia, Bangladesh, Korea (Republic of South), Nepal, Philippines, Sri Lanka, Pakistan, Myanmar.

International Student Services:
WSU has a number of International Student Advisers on each campus who assist students with visa extensions, family and academic support, provide pre-departure information, accommodation services, airport reception and pickup, plus a mentor program on arrival in Australia.

Accommodation:
WSU offers international students a range of accommodation options. These vary from campus to campus.

Airport pickup:
A Universities Information and Reception Desk is located in the foyer of the Arrivals hall at the airport during peak periods (January/February and July).
