Scholarships
Merit based: These scholarships are based on a student’s academic record or extracurricular activities such as sporting achievements and service to the community.
Student specific: These are scholarships for students who qualify based on factors such as gender, race, religion, family and medical history.
Destination specific: These are scholarships awarded by a government or university to students from a particular country.
Subject specific: These are scholarships a university or institution awards to students who plan to pursue a specific field of study.
Endeavour Scholarships and Fellowships 2018 applications are now open online
The 2018 round of the Australian Government’s Endeavour Scholarships and Fellowships is now open.
The Endeavour Scholarships and Fellowships, the Australian Government’s internationally competitive, merit-based scholarships, provide opportunities for citizens of participating countries including Cambodia to undertake vocational or post-graduate study, research and professional development in Australia.
Scholarships are also available for Australians to undertake research and professional development in Cambodia.
Endeavour Postgraduate Scholarships
- Eligible programs: Masters and PhD
- IELTS 6.5 or equivalent
- Duration: up to 2 years for Masters and up to 4 years for PhD
- Value: up to AUD140,500 for Masters and up to AUD272,500 for PhD
Endeavour Vocational Education and Training (VET) Scholarships
- Eligible programs: Australian Diploma or Advanced Diploma
- IELTS 6.5 or equivalent and a bachelor degree
- Duration: up to 2.5 years
- Value: up to AUD131,000
Endeavour Research Fellowships
- Eligible programs: research in Australia towards a Master or PhD degree program at a Lao university or for postdoctoral research
- IELTS 6.5 or equivalent (or as approved by the Australian institution)
- Duration: 4 – 6 months
- Value: up to AUD24,500
Endeavour Executive Fellowships
- Eligible program: professional development
- IELTS 6.5 or equivalent (or as approved by the Australian institution)
- Duration: 1 – 4 months
- Value: up to AUD18,500

New Zealand ASEAN Scholarships
The New Zealand ASEAN Scholarships (NZAS) recognise New Zealand’s close cultural, economic, and geographic ties with Southeast Asia. They seek to empower individuals with the knowledge, skills and qualifications to contribute to the economic, social, and political development of their region. NZAS are offered for postgraduate level study only.
The New Zealand Aid Programme offers scholarships to people from Cambodia who are motivated to make a difference at home.
