Overview
Liverpool John Moores University (LJMU) has a rich cultural history and traces its roots back all the way to 1823 where it was initially the Liverpool Mechanics and Apprentice’s Library. Now, it takes pride in being a modern, civic university that offers degrees that are informed by internationally-acclaimed research, but centred around hands-on and practical learning.
Ranked among the top 600 universities in the world (Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2018), and with a silver rating in the Teaching Excellence Framework 2017, students can trust that the quality of teaching is at a very high level at LJMU.
Based in the world-famous city of Liverpool, the institution gives students the opportunity to make what The Times of London called “the coolest place to live in the UK” their home. With a vibrant array of music, arts and culture on offer all year round in the city, there is lots to do for students outside of lectures. Student satisfaction is high at LJMU, being ranked third in the North-West of England (Complete University Guide 2019).
With GBP 160 million invested over the last 10 years, LJMU offers thousands of cutting-edge learning spaces and state-of-the-art facilities so that students can leave feeling ready for the world of work.
The University offers a number of services to support students in the pursuit of their dream job, including mock job interviews, CV and cover letter reviews, and an extensive calendar of employment events and career fairs.
Over 21,000 students from more than 100 different countries attend LJMU, providing a diverse campus atmosphere. And with over 250 different undergraduate and master’s programmes on offer, there is no shortage of options for students to choose from.
