University of Ontario Institute of Technology was established by the University of Ontario Institute of Technology Act, 2002, S.O. 2002, Chapter 8, Schedule 0 .With its foundation in technology, the sciences and professional practice, the university advances the discovery and application of knowledge that accelerates economic growth, regional development and social innovation and inspires graduates who will continue to make an impact on the world, as it is and as it will be. International students are an important part of their community, with hundreds of students from more than 80 countries studying at the University Of Ontario Institute Of Technology.

University of Ontario Institute of Technology established a downtown Oshawa location and has added new classrooms, labs, study areas and state-of-the-art learning facilities at the north Oshawa location.
