Overview
Formed after a merger between the University of Glamorgan and the University of Wales, Newport in 2013, the University of South Wales (USW) is a major player in UK higher education.
At the University of South Wales, it’s all about being bold, independent and fulfilling your potential. Campuses located in Cardiff, Newport, Pontypridd and Dubai — with 95% of its graduates in work or study within six months of graduation (DLHE 2016/17).
Courses across USW have been created with advice and guidance from professional bodies and leading businesses, to leave graduates from the institution in the best possible position to get a job once they have finished their qualification. USW graduates have gone on to work for companies such as Sony, the BBC, the NHS and British Airways.
Teaching staff at USW are leaders in their fields, have connections across their specific industry, and do everything they can to make sure that students are kept up-to-date with all the relevant information they need to succeed in that field.
With over 345 different undergraduate and postgraduate courses on offer at USW, there is no shortage of options for students to choose from, too.
USW does a lot to make international students feel welcome, with a packed International Welcome Programme, airport arrival services and a variety of other support services such as the Study Skills Service, the Wellbeing Service and the Disability and Dyslexia Service.
There is also lots to do for students outside of class, with world-class sport facilities and a number of student clubs and societies to join.
