Entry requirements

Entry requirements

Entry to UTP II usually needs successful completion of secondary school Year 12, or equivalent. Individual programs may have different entry requirements.

As instruction at the college is in English, students need to demonstrate a good level of English language proficiency. This can be done through results from an official English language test.

There are two levels of entry to a RUIC program: direct or integrated entry.

Direct entry

If students meet the eligibility requirements for direct entry, they can enter straight into UTP Stage II. This includes a non-credit support course. Students will need:

  • IELTS – overall score of 5.5 with no band lower than 5.0
  • TOEFL iBT – overall score of 69
  • PVT – overall score of 50.

Integrated entry

For those eligible for integrated entry, they begin UTP Stage II and take ILC101, which includes two academic courses and tutorials. Students will need:

  • IELTS – overall score of 5.0 with no band lower than 4.5
  • TOEFL iBT – overall score of 60
  • PVT – overall score of 46.

Student support

Throughout their time at RUIC, students receive lots of support and guidance. Experienced staff and student peer mentors both provide help to students. This can either be online or in person.

The advising team helps in many areas, such as course planning, choosing a major and self-care. It strives to give internationals the best experience possible, academically and personally.

New student orientation

All students attend orientation events when they start at the college. During this, they learn about the college, pathway programs, the university and the local area. They get to meet teachers, staff and other students.

Orientation is also a good time to find more information about concerns for students who move overseas to study. This includes:
