Why choose Bupa?
Bupa offers affordable and high quality Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC) that meets visa requirements, including access to a 24-hour student support and advice line in 180 languages.
As a point of difference with OSHC, Bupa provides private cover at both Bupa contracted private hospitals and public hospitals. Bupa OSHC also offers up to 100% of the Medicare Benefits Schedule (MBS)^ fee for the cost of medical services provided by doctors or specialists in hospital (inpatient) or out of hospital (outpatient). Students who take out Bupa OSHC will have access to Bupa’s extensive private hospital network and, in many instances, can be sure of the costs for their treatment up front. Bupa OSHC covers inpatient pharmacy items listed on the Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme (PBS) as well as outpatient PBS and non-PBS pharmacy items*.
Bupa OSHC members will also have access to unlimited emergency ambulance transportation and on-the-spot treatment by our recognised providers.
Bupa offers fast, friendly and helpful advice so our members can focus on their studies.
At Bupa, it’s our purpose that makes us different – helping our members to live longer, healthier, happier lives.
For policy details please refer to Bupa OSHC Product Brochure
*This is provided the pharmacy items usage is approved by the Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA), and the PBS co-payment contribution has been paid.
^ MBS is the list of medical services and treatments recognised for coverage by Medicare and the associated fees for such services and treatments set by the Australian Government.
