The Australian College of Physical Education is leading provider of specialist undergraduate and postgraduate degrees in the related disciplines of sport, dance, and physical education. As an independent tertiary institution, ACPE attracts individuals from around Australia and the world who wish to launch or further their careers in the sports sector and its related professions. ACPE was founded in 1917 as a physical education training institute for young women.
The college commenced operations at the Normanhurst School with an initial induction of seven students, six of whom were Normanhurst graduates. The Student Learning Services is a resource centre for academic and career-related skills that are essential to professional development and success. It’s staffs are committed to helping students maximise academic potential. Programs begin during Orientation Week to aid the transition to a tertiary-level environment, and regular workshops are conducted throughout semester. These workshops offer training in a range of skills, such as essay writing, academic reading, studying, time management, numeracy development, and verbal presentation.
ACPE opened its new campus at 10 Parkview Drive, Sydney Olympic Park. This state of the art campus provides students with premier learning premises , highlights include 16 tutorial and lecture rooms, three science labs, teaching gym, six PC labs, three indoor playing courts, two dance studios with sprung floors, and multiple student common areas and study pods.
