The University of Rhode Island, a state’s flagship public university, was chartered as the state’s agricultural school in 1888. It is the State’s public learner centred research university. The main campus of the University of Rhode Island is located in Kingston, 30 miles south of Providence, 75 miles from Boston, and 160 miles from New York City. It is a small, beautiful place and the location inspires students and faculty to learn and discover daily.
