University of Utah was established in 1850. It is a public, coeducational research university in Salt Lake City in Utah, United States. The university is Utah's oldest institution of higher education. It is one of ten institutions that make up the Utah System of Higher Education. University of Utah is home to an arts and culture scene that features the state's flagship fine arts museum, an arboretum that doubles as one of the most happening summer concert venues in the West, theatres that attract Broadway quality performances, and a natural history museum that has been lauded as one of the best in the country.
The University of Utah offers students many choices of majors and degrees. The most popular departments for international students are the College of Engineering, the School of Computing, and the School of Business. It offers many undergraduate research opportunities where students can have real world experiences and opportunities for graduate research. Salt Lake City is an active and growing city with many things to do. There are nine world class ski resorts within an hour drive, some even less than 30 minutes from the campus.
