IDP Education’s annual flagship event is the Australian International Education Conference (AIEC).
IDP Education has hosted AIEC since its inception in 1987. Since 2006, the conference has been co-presented with the International Education Association of Australia (IEAA).
This leading conference takes place over four days each October. It attracts international education practitioners, teaching staff, researchers, policy makers and other stakeholders international education.
Delegates represent a mix of experts and newcomers to industry, from all education sectors, including English language, schools, higher education and vocational education and training, as well as government and peak body representatives and private providers.
The program is made up of approximately 70 to 80 sessions designed to address the topic and theme chosen for that year. Keynotes, presentations, roundtables, workshops, café sessions and panels cover the hot topics and issues important to people working in international education.
Leading experts from around the world present on a broad range of topics, so attendees can gain important and relevant knowledge, learn about best practices and industry trends, get industry insights and discover innovative approaches to issues facing international education today.
The conference provides an excellent opportunity to network with Australian and international colleagues. On average, 1175 attendees from 400 organisations attend the conference each year, including speakers, exhibitors and delegates. Approximately 15 per cent of attendees come from overseas, and about two thirds of Australian attendees are from New South Wales and Victoria.
In 2016, we celebrate the 30th anniversary of AIEC in the culturally rich city of Melbourne from 18-21 October. The AIEC 2016 theme will be ‘connectivity – at the heart of international education’.
AIEC 2016’s program will feature world leading experts, unique social events and an exhibition; all hosted in and around the iconic Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre.
