NZ Diploma in Business (Leadership and Management) Level 5

This qualification equips students for management and leadership roles at New Zealand business entities to help them successfully achieve business objectives at an operational level. The programme builds on the New Zealand Certificate in Business (First Line Management) (Level 4) and provides a stair-casing option to Massey University.

Duration: 40 weeks Fees: NZD 19,804

NZ Diploma in Business (Leadership and Management) Level 6

This qualification equips students with the skills and knowledge to manage and lead New Zealand business entities through effective management and leadership that will lead to productivity increases. This builds on the NZ Diploma in Business (Leadership and Management) (Level 5), and offers a stair-casing option to Massey University. It could lead to relevant study options at Level 7 or above.

Duration: 40 weeks Fees: NZD 19,804

Diploma in Business Management – Level 7- Business Information Technology

This qualification equips students with advanced business management skills and knowledge to effectively manage a business environment and e-business platforms with strategic technology infused business processes.

Diploma in Business Management – Level 7- Digital Ubiquitous Marketing

This programme teaches students to develop and implement tactics and strategies with digital ubiquitous marketing practices that focus on reaching new customers, retaining customers, building customer loyalty, and improving profitability. This qualification is for those with a Level 6 qualification in management or business, or those who have an equivalent level of industry experience.

English language programs

English for Academic and General Purposes – English for General Purposes Strand

This programme is for students looking to develop their general English and includes additional topics related to the context of life in New Zealand.

As the institute is a Category 1 provider, students who take up the English language programme of a 14-week minimum in duration (at AEI Christchurch or AEI Auckland) can work up to 20 hours in a week. Specialist subject modules on offer include:

  • English for aviation
  • English for business
  • English for hospitality
  • English for agriculture
  • English for nursing studies

Duration: Up to 48 weeks per year Fees: NZD 280 per week and NZD 200 for registration

For NZ diplomas

Academic requirements

All applicants above the age of 20 years will be considered for admission. Those who are below the age of 20 must meet below requirements:

  • In mathematics - a minimum of 14 numeracy credits at Level 1 or more (and)
  • In Level 1- 50 credits or above with a minimum of 12 credits each for three subjects and at least 8 literacy credits in Level 2 English 4 credits in writing and 4 in reading (or)
  • An equivalent of credits mentioned above (or)
  • New Zealand university entrance (or)
  • Completion of Level 5 New Zealand Diploma in Business

English language requirements

  • International students who have had English as their second language must produce an IELTS score of 6.0 with no individual band score lower than 5.5, a TOEFL pBT score of 550 (and an essay score of 5 TWE), TOEFL iBT score of 79 or higher (and a writing score of 20), FCE or CAE score of 52 or higher, and/or NZCEL Level 4 with academic endorsement or an equivalent, PTE score of 50 (or)
  • New Zealand university entrance

Academic requirements

All applicants are required to meet the below requirements:

  • A Level 6 or higher qualification in business (or equivalent) (or)
  • A degree in disciplines related to programme chosen (or)
  • Four years of relevant experience in industry as minimum in a business-related field, requiring the knowledge equivalent of a Level 6 business qualification

English language requirements

  • International students whose first language is not English, must produce an IELTS score of 6.0 (academic) with no individual band lower than 5.5 (or)
  • An equivalent level of proficiency as per NZQA regulations

How to apply

How to apply

To gain admission, international students must follow the below application procedure:

  • Students must complete the AEI international student application form. They must choose a specialisation while applying.
  • The application form must be submitted to the AEI marketing team or one of its recruitment consultants.
  • Students must submit a copy of their passport, academic certificates, work experience (if any) and produce evidence of having met the entry requirements of desired course.
  • Students require travel/medical insurance for the duration of their stay - for which AEI can make arrangements, if needed.
  • AEI will then send through an offer letter and an invoice, once students have gained admission.
  • Students are then required to make the payment and make an application for their student visa.
  • On receiving payment, AEI will send through a receipt to confirm students' acceptance of the offer letter.
