Become a content contributor for IDP

Share your experience and help international students settle into their new life in a new city.

Studying abroad is a massive adventure – one that is both exciting and daunting at the same time. There’s so much to think about, plan and pack.

Having made the big move yourself, you’re probably looking back and realising how much you’ve learned (and how much you wish you’d known before taking the leap).

And this is exactly why you make the perfect candidate to provide new international students with some encouragement and reassurance!

What’s the role?

The IDP content contrubitor role is a paid, freelance position offered to international students and alumni.

Using our style guide, you’ll produce compelling written or visual content that supports the needs of international students who are considering studying in your city or already living in your city.

How does it work?

You’ll work with us in two ways:

    1. We’ll brief you on the content we need.

    2. You’ll pitch us ideas for content that you want to create.

The amount of content you submit to us is up to you, you decide how much work you can handle. We will work with you on content briefs and use an editorial calendar to establish workflows and deadlines.

We’ll publish your work through our app, social media channels and websites.

Who should apply for the role?

You’re perfect for the role if you are:

  • A current or former international student who loves studying abroad.
  • A passionate wordsmith, photographer or videographer.

  • You’re credited for your work (we’ll include your name (or social handle) and other details for every content piece you produce for us).
  • You’re building a professional portfolio.
  • You’ll be guided by one of our writers, social media specialists or multimedia designers.
  • You’ll get a professional, written reference from IDP.
  • You’ll have fun doing it!
