Shopping in the U.S. can be a major part of a visitor’s experience.
You will find shopping precincts, both indoor and outdoor shopping malls, as well as luxury boutiques and large-scale department stores, so you’ll have plenty of options to explore. Most stores in the U.S. are open from Monday to Saturday 10:00am to 8:00pm, and 11:00am to 5:00pm on Sunday.
When you’re looking for somewhere to eat out, there are endless options in terms of both what kind of food you want and what your budget may be. If you want to cook at home, there will be lots of fresh produce stores and supermarkets in your local area.
Tipping the waiter or waitress is not a must but in most of the U.S. it is considered to be a custom to do so, especially at any sit-down restaurant where there is table service. As a general rule, the an average tip is approximately 15-20% of the total meal cost.
