Quality – a leader in learning
Quality is the number one reason why international students and their families select Victorian government schools as their destination of choice. Victoria’s leading school education system, classroom facilities, welfare support and English language facilities make it one of the world’s best education destinations. Victoria is also home to some of Australia's world-class universities. It is these combined intellectual assets which have built Victoria's reputation as a global centre of excellence in education.
VCE - an internationally recognised school qualification
The Victorian school education system is characterised by vibrant and dynamic learning environments, innovative teaching practices, a diverse curriculum and an internationally-recognised qualification - the Victorian Certificate of Education (VCE). The VCE is a comprehensive senior high school program, with a broad choice of subjects that provides entry to all Australian universities and many universities internationally.
Specialised English language programs
Victorian government schools help international students to learn English quickly. On arrival, students can attend an Intensive English Language Program before they move into mainstream classes. Homestay – a secure and rewarding experience
While away from home, a homestay family helps students find a place to belong, rapidly grow confident using English, experience life as a native and fall more comfortably into a study routine. As an active family member, students share in fun social, sporting and cultural activities. Most importantly, homestay families offer the support needed for learning success.
Homestay families are carefully evaluated and rigorously administered by International Student Coordinators at each Victorian government school. Only families who will actively support students to adapt to living and studying in Australia join the program. Schools find matching a homestay family based on exacting student needs, and also give families regular advice on helping students fit in and thrive.
