Overview
The Australian Catholic University (ACU) is Australia’s foremost Catholic University, and ranks among the top ten Catholic higher education institutions in the world. It holds seven campuses in Australia and one in Rome, Italy.
The University is also ranked in the top ten in Australia for student satisfaction and teaching, as well as being among the top five institutions for skills development across the whole of Australia. 94% of the research undertaken at ACU is ranked at world standard or higher.
Staff at ACU have an outstanding reputation for not only providing a brilliant education, but also for making students from all over the world feel welcome at the institution. ACU takes great pride in having a multi-cultural campus, while still giving their students the best chance of employment after graduation by actively engaging with the industry they are involved in.
There is a focus on hands-on experience, with internships, work experience or volunteer work available in the majority of the degrees on offer at ACU. This has led to the institution being among the top three in Australia for undergraduate employment, according to the Federal Government’s Graduate Outcomes Survey.
The University has an innovative careers service which looks to bring together students and graduates of ACU with employers, through campus visits, work placements and the ACU CareerHub - that allows companies to advertise openings to students and recent graduates.
Student life is lively and exciting at ACU. Not only are there 15 different competitive sports clubs that face off against rival universities, there are also student choirs, guitar lessons, and a variety of other creative pastimes that students can get involved with, and meet their new classmates at the same time.
