Camosun College campuses are located on the Traditional Territories of the Lekwungen and WS?NE? peoples. The college welcomed its first students in 1971 and adopted the name Camosun, a local Lkwungen (Songhees) First Nation name meaning where different waters meet and are transformed.
Camosun offers a wide range of credentials to help prepare students for their career. Its instructors are industry professionals who understand what skills graduates need in the workforce. Students can study programs in the areas of Arts & Science, Business, Engineering & Technology, Sport & Exercise Education, and Health & Human Services. Over 90% of Camosun programs offer students the possibility to engage in a Work Integrated Learning (WIL) experience. It offers WIL opportunities in a variety of forms, including co-ops, internships, practicums and strategic volunteering. Regardless of the WIL experience students participate in, the opportunity will allow students to elevate their skills and facilitate their transition into the job market after graduation.
Camosun International provides international students with specialized services and support. Its Victoria-based staff come from 14 countries and speak 23 languages. With an international office on each campus, its team welcomes students from around the world and facilitates a positive and successful experience at the college.
Camosun?s campuses are well-equipped with the facilities and services to ensure students time here is productive and enjoyable. At each campus, students will find a library, bookstore, computer labs, study rooms, fitness centre, cafeteria, coffee shop, and help centres for English and math. On campus, they can also participate in student clubs, drop-in and competitive sports teams, exercise classes, and career fairs.
The two campuses, Lansdowne and Interurban, serve approximately 19,000 learners every year. Historical Lansdowne campus sits high on the corner of Lansdowne and Foul Bay Roads, offering spectacular clear-day views of Victoria and the Olympic Mountains. Whereas the Interurban campus rests in a rural Saanich setting, only a short 15-minute drive from downtown. In addition to the main campuses, Camosun offers upgrading, Continuing Education, and credit courses at two other locations in Greater Victoria i.e. Belmont Secondary School in Westshore and the Camosun Coastal Centre on Songhees First Nation territory. Camosun also offers specialized programming in Indigenous communities and through local agencies.
