Greenest university in London

City, University of London tops the London tables and is joint-fifth place in the UK in the latest People & Planet’s University League Table.

The league table looks at the impact universities have on the environment and ranks those which make the best sustainable efforts. City achieved a score of 66 per cent, which is equivalent to a first-class award.

This is a reflection of the hard work that the university puts in to being an environmentally-friendly institution, which is a great challenge in a large, polluted city like London.

The university also empowers students to fight climate change and is committed to the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals. As well as big changes such as introducing solar panels and other energy-saving technology, City has created smaller, more collaborative initiatives such as campus vegetable and edible flower gardens which the community can get involved with.
