New Mexico State University is a comprehensive research institution of higher education dedicated to teaching, research, and service at the undergraduate and graduate levels. it is a NASA Space Grant College, a Hispanic-serving institution and is home to the very first Honors College in New Mexico. The University is truly a reflection of the region’s vibrant communities , an exciting place to tackle challenges, find answers to important issues and prepare for the future. New Mexico State University enrolls more than 15,000 students from 49 states and 89 foreign countries.
Students seeking bachelor's and associates degrees can choose from a number of majors and pre-professional programs. Students seeking master’s and doctoral degrees can choose from many traditional or distance based programs. The University provides learning opportunities to a diverse population of students and community members at five campuses, a satellite learning center in Albuquerque, cooperative extension offices located in each of New Mexico’s 33 counties, 12 research and science centers and through distance education.
Located in Las Cruces, New Mexico State University's 900-acre main campus is located at the crossroads of I-10 and I-25 in the Southern part of the United States. As a thriving center of higher education, deeply rooted in the southwestern tradition, its role as a comprehensive university is recognized throughout the state.
