Formed in 1906, the Surrey School District currently has the largest student enrolment in British Columbia and is one of the few growing districts in the province. It is the largest public-school district in British Columbia, Canada and the ideal place for international students to achieve their academic goals while experiencing a true Canadian lifestyle. Currently, over 750 international students are studying amongst 74,000 domestic students. . The School District prepares its learners to think creatively and critically, communicate skilfully, and demonstrate care for self and others.

Surrey School District prides itself on being able to offer unique educational opportunities that will cater the needs of any student. Students can choose a regular academic program or one of the many specialized programs such as Advanced Placement, International Baccalaureate or Fine Arts. It offers a wide range of support services for students such as Multi Cultural Workers, counsellors, academic advisors, and customized ESL programs, so the students can have all the help they need to succeed.
