About IDP Education

Study abroad with someone who knows the way

IDP is a global leader in international education services. We help international students study in English speaking countries. Our success comes from connecting students with the right course in the right university or institution and the right country. We partner with more than 700 leading universities, schools and colleges across Australia, Canada, New Zealand, the United Kingdom, Ireland and the United States. Last year, we helped students gain entry into more than 34,000 quality courses – so we are sure to find your best fit.

Our history

Established in 1969, IDP is a publicly listed company on the Australian Securities Exchange (ASX) and is 50% owned by Australian universities.

Student placement - If you have the ambition, we have the way

We've been operating for close to 50 years, creating a huge network of opportunity with offices in 30 countries. We have over 100 offices and 700 education counsellors based around the world. Around the world, an IDP student gains entry into a quality course every 15 minutes. In fact, more than 9 in 10 students recommend us to their family and friends.

What we do?

Free abroad counselling

Our IDP counsellors walk you through the entire process of studying internationally. Our sessions involve helping students find the right course and universities and the best part is – all our sessions are free!

Course advice

We can help you find the best course and coordinate your university application.

Visa application assistance

We will help you prepare your visa documents and simplify the otherwise cumbersome process of getting a visa.

Pre-departure Support

You must be well-prepared for your journey overseas and hence, pre-departure briefings form an important part of our services.

Welcome events

Through regular welcome events, we continue our support even when you reach a new country. Currently, this service is only available for students who choose to study in Australia.

We help you choose a health cover that suits you the best. Our counsellors also guide you through your application.

IDP ISIC Student Benefit Card

IDP Helpline

We understand that some questions and concerns can’t wait so we created the IDP Helpline – a confidential, 24/7 service.

Accommodation Services

IDP, with its quality accommodation service providers, helps you find a home that goes well with your budget and lifestyle.

Guardianship and welfare services

If you’re under 18, and need a legal guardian, we will help you find a caring and experienced guardian in Australia.

IELTS, the International English Language Testing System

As a co-owner of IELTS, we can help you book and prepare for your IELTS test. Recognised by more than 10,000 organisations around the world, IELTS is the world’s leading English language test for study, work and migration purposes. IDP’s IELTS network spans more than 450 test locations across 55 countries.

IELTS is jointly owned by the British Council, IDP: IELTS Australia and Cambridge Assessment English.

English language teaching (ELT)

IDP operates 11 English language teaching campuses across South East Asia in Cambodia, Thailand and Vietnam. Our teaching programs range from short IELTS preparation courses through to extensive Business English programs. Last year, IDP delivered more than 75,000 courses to students across the three countries.

Acquisition of the Hotcourses Group

In 2017, we acquired the Hotcourses Group, a leading course search database and student placement company.

The addition of the Hotcourses Group to the IDP network allows us to start our relationship with our students earlier, so we are by their side throughout the whole international education journey, from course discovery through to career.
