Stella Maris College has grown significantly from its first intake in 1931 to approximately one thousand students today, large enough to provide a breadth of learning experiences, yet retaining structures to ensure each girl is recognized, supported, and valued.

This is a Catholic community which is committed to providing an inclusive education through a variety of quality learning experiences, which enhance the development of girls in the Benedictine Tradition. The primary focus is Academic excellence. It has a differentiated curriculum which means that each girl is nurtured so that she can work towards academic goals that see her achieve the personal best. The girls often achieve beyond their expectations and it enjoys the success as much as they do. The college has a long-standing reputation for success with students in need of learning support and a diverse range of activities designed to extend its girls as far as they can go.

It offers subjects that are of high interest to all the girls. All the usual subjects are complemented by subjects as diverse as Photography, Video Production, Food Technology, Textiles, Drama, Dance, Music, Visual Arts, Philosophy, Critical Thinking, Physical Activity and Sport Science, Digital Technology, Design and Technology and Independent Research. There is a choice of five languages to study which is Chinese, French, Italian, Japanese and Spanish. It is strong in academics, creative and performing arts, sport, and vocational education. These subjects create pathways into diverse careers that challenge gender stereotypes.

The College consists of two campuses: the main campus on Eurobin Avenue and Benedict Campus, a short five-minute walk away on Pittwater Road. Stella Maris College is on the northern beaches of Sydney, within the Catholic Diocese of Broken Bay. It is in a safe and quiet position on the northern end of Manly Beach at Queenscliff with easy access to a range of sporting and recreation facilities in the area. Its magnificent local surroundings serve to impress upon students the richness and diversity of Australia?s heritage and encourage stewardship of the environment and natural resources.
