The Essington International School Darwin
The Essington International School Darwin is an Australian school with a difference. It is a parent owned, non-denominational, co-educational school known nationally for its innovative programs and outstanding success in national and international assessments. The school originated in the early 1980s as a Montessori Kindergarten catering for children from three to five years of age. In 2000 it expanded to offer a program from Kindergarten to Year 10. The Essington’s vision takes a holistic approach to education that ensures an effective and challenging educational program, which is based on the individual needs of the child with the emphasis being placed on the recognition of differences between children.
The School currently offers high quality child care, preschool, early childhood, primary, and middle school programs, and a unique senior secondary program at it’s Senior College. It has single year classes. Class sizes are small. The school provides a positive, nurturing environment in which children are encouraged to pursue their potential. In line with its philosophy, The Essington International School Darwin provides a fully inclusive program, catering for children with a diverse range of needs. It seeks to offer an international education and curriculum experience for the students by extending the local curriculum. The School offers a seamless educational program from two child care centres, Preschool, Early Years Program, Junior School, and Middle School through to the expanding Senior Secondary program.
The Essington International School Darwin is located in Rapid Creek which is approximately ten kilo meters from Darwin in the Northern Territory of Australia.
