The University of Gloucestershire has opened two new state-of-the-art 3G sports pitches at our Oxstalls campus. The two pitches offer students and the community year-round access to a variety of sports, including rugby and football, walking football and a range of disability sports, with world-class artificial playing surfaces. The pitches are FIFA and World Rugby compliant.
“We are thrilled to see the Oxstalls Sports Park emerge as an international standard facility which will offer additional opportunities for individuals to engage in a range of activities for health and wellbeing. Our ambition is to also attract major events which will begin with the Severn Stars Super League Netball Club playing their home games here in 2019.” - Anita Navin, Head of the School of Sport and Exercise at the University of Gloucestershire.
England Rugby’s investment is part of its Rugby World Cup 2015 legacy of delivering over GBP 50million into the development of 100 artificial pitches across England.
Steve Grainger, RFU Rugby Development Director said, “We are delighted to work in partnership with the University of Gloucestershire to increase rugby across the area. The university has a fantastic rugby programme and we hope that the new pitches will continue to foster strong links with rugby clubs across the area, providing them with access to a high quality playing surface that can be used year-round.”
Our new Pittville Student Village, which is the result of £38million investment, has added an additional 800 rooms to our existing portfolio. This exciting new site in Cheltenham has been developed in partnership with Uliving, leaders in student living. The village boasts landscaped grounds, gym, multi-use games area, shop, faith space, ergonomic social spaces and 24/7 on site security.
