Established in 1895, Wichita State University is one of America's national universities, offering students an outstanding education at a reasonable cost. It offers a wide variety of programs that includes more than 225 majors and specializations. Wichita State University has more than 12 doctoral and over 40 master’s programs in its colleges, which includes Business, Education, Engineering, Fine Arts, Health Professions and Liberal Arts & Sciences. It has a beautiful, park-like campus with 65 buildings and impressive facilities, which includes a large library with over 1 million items, modern and well-equipped engineering and science laboratories, and Wi-Fi enabled campus. The university operates its own TV and radio stations and has a large sports complex, basketball arena, baseball and softball stadiums, track stadium, a bowling alley, an 18-hole golf course and a large tennis complex.
It has more than 160 student clubs and multiple organizations charged with promoting cultural awareness and helping make the university a welcoming place where all students can feel at home. The WSU Alumni Association is very active on campus, organizing social and fundraising events and sponsoring campus activities. The university has the largest Internship program in the state of Kansas and one of the largest in the Midwest.
