The university was most-recently ranked 10th nationally by McLean’s university in the “Comprehensive” category and the school scored especially high in student-faculty ratio (3rd), research funding (7th) and scholarship availability (5th).
With more than 70 Bachelor’s, 17 Master’s and 6 PhD programs , Laurentian is well known for its courses in engineering, business management, computational science, health sciences, nursing, mineral exploration and mining.
Located four hours north of Toronto, Laurentian’s main campus in Sudbury offers quality education in a vibrant, safe, and affordable mid-sized city, with access to all urban amenities. Historically relying on a mining economy, Sudbury has diversified over the years, to establish itself as a regional centre of finance, business, tourism, health care, education, government, and science and technology research. Laurentian also has a second campus in Barrie, Ontario, an hour north of Toronto.
The university boasts one of the highest post-graduation employment rates in Ontario at 95%.
