About College of Southern Nevada

The potential in everyone is right there waiting to come out. And all that’s needed to unlock that potential is a little confidence, the courage to dream and a place to start the journey. The College of Southern Nevada is that place. As the largest and most ethnically diverse college in Nevada, it has made it a priority to provide an affordable, collaborative and welcoming environment that allows students of any culture to shine. CSN is a fully accredited institution offering over 180 degrees and certificates in more than 70 academic programs—with 24 degrees and certificates available entirely online. There are 11 Areas of Study that feature career options grouped by interest.

At CSN, student-to-faculty ratio is 27 to 1 and that means students will get plenty of one-on-one attention so they can quickly grasp subject matter. The college offers the lowest tuition in southern Nevada so more people in its community can get a quality, accredited education without breaking the bank. If students need a little help with funds, the college can walk them through the financial aid process and outline various options from scholarships and grants to loans and payment plans.

As a College of Southern Nevada Coyote, students have many outlets to extend themselves socially, physically and academically. The Department of Student Life and Leadership Development consists of staff members that serves as advisors, mentors and facilitators to student leaders and members of more than 30 clubs and organizations.

Phi Theta Kappa is the international honor society of two-year colleges. It is the largest honor society in American higher education and promotes scholarships, leadership, service and fellowship among its members and the community.

The college is extremely accessible with three main campuses in Las Vegas, North Las Vegas and Henderson, as well as multiple sites and centers throughout the Southern Nevada area. Henderson Campus features a variety of general education courses and specialized classes in fields such as air conditioning, aviation, welding and police training. It is also home to the Southern Desert Regional Police Academy, and the Morse Stadium and Lied Sports Complex, used by CSN’s national championship baseball and softball teams.

The Charleston Campus houses the President's Office, executive administration, the CSN Foundation and human resources. Services on campus range from the Veterans Education & Transition Center, Dental Faculty Practice and Mojave Mental Health Services to the international student center, center for academic success and online learning.

North Las Vegas Campus centralized student services area makes for easy access to critical support areas. Some of the programs housed on campus are Automotive Technology, Computing & Information Technology, including Cisco Systems, Media Technologies and Culinary Arts, which was recently named the 7th best culinary school in the nation by Best Choice Schools. This campus also unique places to discover hundreds of college and community events, such as the Planetarium, the Fine Arts Gallery and the Nicholas Horn Performing Arts Center.
