San Jose State University
Founded in 1857, San Jose State's history began before the Civil War, as the first State Normal School, which trained teachers who educated the people of a young California. Now, SJSU is a dynamic comprehensive university that anchors the 10th largest city in the United States, and Spartans are found around the globe.
Consistently ranked as one of the West?s top public universities offering bachelor?s and master?s degrees, San Jose State provides a wide range of undergraduate, graduate and doctoral programs that promote intellectual inquiry and independent thought. Each college houses schools, departments and programs specific to its area, creating a rich variety of offerings for its students and the community.

The university is located in one of the most innovative regions in the world. One of the largest cities in the U.S., San Jose is the heart of Silicon Valley. Coastal redwood forests, the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk and San Francisco are all about an hour away.
