Texas State University opened it’s doors in 1903. It has more than 36,000 students who can choose from 97 bachelor’s, 88 master’s and 12 doctoral degree programs offered by the following colleges , Applied Arts, McCoy College of Business Administration, Education, Fine Arts and Communication, Health Professions, Liberal Arts, Science and Engineering, University College and The Graduate College. As an Emerging Research University, the university offers opportunities for discovery and innovation to faculty and students. It’s students come from around the globe, and the student body is diverse.
Texas State offers nearly 100 bachelor's degrees for students to find their full academic potential. With individualized advising through the Personalized Academic & Career Exploration Center or small classes in the Honours College, the students are sure to get the attention that is needed.
Texas State's main campus is in San Marcos, a growing community of 58,000 people in the Austin Metropolitan Area. Located in the Texas Hill Country, where black land prairies roll into beautiful hills, Texas State enjoys a setting that is unique among Texas universities. It’s location on the banks of the San Marcos River provides recreational activities for students throughout the year.
