Overview
Keele University is located in Newcastle-under-Lyme – a university town close to the lively city of Stoke-on-Trent. The institution is a popular choice with students, and was ranked joint first in England for student course satisfaction by the Guardian University League Table 2019. Students have the option of studying from foundation level to postgraduate with a wide range of subjects including Environmental Science and Marketing and Media. There is a high employment rate at Keele, with 96% of graduates finding work within six months of leaving their studies.
The University embraces its international student population and believes in helping everyone become global citizens. Students have the opportunity to learn another language during their studies, while spending time studying in another country is also an option, both for short and longer periods of time.
Students are encouraged to get involved in extra-curricular activities, and the University currently runs over 200 clubs and societies, as well as a student radio station for budding journalists to get involved with. There are also many events taking place throughout the year, including exhibitions, shows and trips.
The University is self-contained and has many impressive facilities, including a 24/7 library, long term laptop loans, a healthy fast food outlet, a weekly farmer's market, a gym, dance studios, sports courts and pitches. There are also three campus shops, a Students' Union shop and post office, a bank, a pharmacy and a bookshop.
During their time at the institution, students receive plenty of support. There are dedicated services and help on offer for disabled students, care leavers and those from overseas, as well as financial support, careers advice and a confidential counselling service. Students with children can utilise the on-site purpose-built nursery.
