Founded in 1897, San Diego State University is ranked among the top 70 national public universities in the United States, offering 95 undergraduate degree programs through the College of Arts & Letters, Fowler College of Business, Colleges of Education, Engineering, Health & Human Services, Professional Studies & Fine Arts, Sciences, and the Division of Undergraduate Studies, which hosts the Weber Honors College. San Diego State University received its first federal grant in the 1950s and began its first doctoral program in the 1960s, and has continued to chart a course of discovery and scholarship ever since. SDSU is the flagship research institution of the 23-campus California State University system, offering 24 doctoral programs (including 21 joint-doctoral degrees) and netting 135 million USD in grants and contracts.

With more than 350 student organizations at SDSU, it is easy to find something that suits every student interests. SDSU students are admitted FREE to all athletic events. And at SDSU, every student has the opportunity to train like an athlete in the Aztec Recreation Center (ARC). The ARC is an 80,000-square-foot fitness facility that offers exercise classes, intramural sports, and a rock climbing wall.
