British Columbia Institute of Technology (BCIT)
Founded in 1964, BCIT inspires students beyond their classroom studies and provides job-ready graduates to industries across Canada and the world. British Columbia Institute of Technology is one of British Columbia's largest post-secondary institutions with more than 48,000 students enrolled annually (16,600 full-time, 31,600 part-time). The institute offer practical career credentials designed for the workplace, including degrees, diplomas and certificates spanning Applied and Natural Sciences, Business and Media, Computing and Information Technology, Engineering, Health Sciences and Trades.
BCIT offers a range of credentials—from certificates to master’s degrees—that help students fulfil their educational goals. Each credential combines applied theory and the practical skills needed to work in the chosen field. At BCIT, students learn theory and put it into practice all in one process. The institution, work with industry to ensure that their training remains on the cutting edge of current practices, and engage our students in the classroom, in the lab, and in the field, building a broad and relevant spectrum of skills. When students graduate, they're ready to jump in and contribute—right from day one.
The institute offers caring staff and recreation services for their students. Students will have chances to enrich their experience and professional readiness through leadership opportunities, student clubs, competitions, and events. There are numerous support services—from personal and social to academic and cultural—to help student thrive.
BCIT now has five main campuses as well as satellite locations province-wide. Its international partnerships span training, education and research initiatives in South America, Central America, East Asia and Eastern Europe.
