East Carolina University
East Carolina University was chartered in 1907 as a state supported teacher training school. It is currently the third largest campus in the University of North Caroline system. The university prepares the students to live, work, and compete in the 21st century global knowledge based economy, ready to provide next generation solutions. It measures the success by the accomplishments of the students and the impact upon the world. The University offers over 100 bachelor’s degrees, 85 master’s degrees and more than 20 doctoral degrees. It is the intellectual, economic, and cultural centre of Eastern North Carolina. East Carolina University is located in Greenville, North Carolina approximately 136 km east of Raleigh, which is the state’s capital city, and 140 km west of Atlantic beaches. Three distinct campuses comprise ECU, the main one being in an urban residential area.
