Admission requirements for Australian universities

Postgraduate degree programs may have additional entry requirements above the standard conditions. Depending on the course, prior knowledge in certain subjects are required; in some cases, working experience as well.

As for English requirement, IELTS (Academic) is accepted by Australian universities. However, a recognised bachelor’s degree, diploma may be accepted in replacement to IELTS on a case-to-case basis. Generally, university is looking for IELTS (Academic) band score of 6.5, with no individual sub-score less than 6.0 as evidence of English language proficiency.
