PhD course duration in universities of New Zealand
It is usually a 3-year full-time programme with an extension of maximum 6-years. Part-time PhD courses are not available.

What are the admission requirements for Ph. D. in New Zealand?
For a PhD programme, you are generally evaluated on two bases, i.e., existing qualifications and a research thesis. Details are as mentioned below:
- Master’s degree in the desired subject.
- Only Bachelor's degree for potent students, with extra-fine grades, who are ready to do PhD level work.
- Satisfactory grades in Masters and Bachelors (check as per university requirements)
- Considerable research modules at Master’s level.
- The research project, to prove that you possess sufficient potential to lead to a PhD programme.
- With your research proposal, you will be judged on your thoughts purpose and methodology
- You do not need to do detailed research; your work should be clear and impressive and practical.

You need to have health insurance policy, either from your native country or from the respective institute.
