Guardian University of the Year 2019
Nottingham Trent University has been named the University of the Year in the Guardian University Awards 2019.
The university won the award after climbing to 16th in the Guardian University Guide 2019, a UK league table focussed on student satisfaction, graduate employment and the quality of teaching.
The award also recognises the university’s commitment to supporting students to succeed in their studies and future career.
Guardian University Guide editor, Judy Friedberg, said: “Nottingham Trent's performance across a range of measures has been exceptional this year. The university delivers overall academic excellence while paying close attention to the success of each individual student, no matter their background.”
New Global Lounge
Nottingham Trent opened a new Global Lounge in March 2019, moving the area into a modern facility just down the road from the existing centre to host events and promote multiculturalism. International Development Office staff will also be housed in the facility, which will become a place of huge use and interest for international students.
Professor Cillian Ryan commented, “We are excited to see this fantastic building completed. We have worked closely with architects and contractors to ensure it will provide ample space for our Global Lounge to meet and host events whilst providing modern office space for colleagues working to support international recruitment. We are delighted with the result.”
