Overview

ONCAMPUS Hull is a partnership between ONCAMPUS and the prestigious University of Hull. It offers international students a variety of university progression programmes, where they can develop their English language and academic skills.

After successfully completing a foundation programme, students are guaranteed a place to study for an undergraduate or master's degree at Hull.

Hull is one of the oldest universities in the UK. It's internationally renowned in a variety of fields. For instance, the Mechanical Engineering department is ranked fourth in the UK for learning resources (National Student Survey 2018).

It's also well known for its teaching quality, after achieving silver status in the most recent Teaching Excellence Framework (TEF 2018). Students receive excellent career support too with 97.9 per cent of international graduates in work or further study within six months of graduating (HESA 2018) and have gone on to work for top companies like Coca-Cola, Volkswagen, 20th Century Fox and the Walt Disney Company.

During their time at ONCAMPUS Hull, students have the opportunity to access all the facilities that the university has to offer. This includes the Brynmor Jones Library, which has recently undergone a GBP 28 million refurbishment. The world-class Sports and Fitness Centre, which is being developed to include an eight-court sports hall, a 110-station fitness suite and a floodlit pitch.

The city of Hull is a hive of cultural activity, where there are an array of bars, restaurants, museums and galleries to explore. It received the prestigious UK City of Culture award which it will hold until 2021.

Study Options

Undergraduate Foundation Programme (UFP)

Students develop their English language and academic skills while preparing for direct entry to Year One of an undergraduate degree programme at the University of Hull. Those who successfully complete the programme are guaranteed progression. The programme lasts three terms, or there is an extended four-term programme that commences in September.

International Year One (Engineering/Business) (IY1)

Students develop their English language and academic skills while preparing for direct entry to Year Two of an undergraduate degree programme at the University of Hull. Those who successfully complete the three-term programme are guaranteed progression.

There are a number of BEng, BSc (Hons) and BA (Hons) degree programmes students can progress to at Hull.

Master's Foundation Programme (MFP)

The Master's Foundation Programme lasts three terms and offers guaranteed progression to a range of Business-related master's degree programmes at the University of Hull.

Entry requirements

Entry requirements

Students need to meet a number of entry requirements to be eligible for admission to study with ONCAMPUS Hull. This includes English language proficiency requirements:

  • Undergraduate Foundation Programme (three-term) – students will need an IELTS score of 4.5 or equivalent, with no section below 4.0.
  • International Year One (Engineering/Business) (three-term) – students will need an IELTS score of at least 5.5 or equivalent, with no section below 5.0.
  • International Year One (Engineering/Business) (four-term) – students will need an IELTS score of at least 5.0 or equivalent, with no section below 4.0.
  • Master's Foundation Programme (three-term) – students will need an IELTS score of at least 4.5 IELTS or equivalent, with no section below 4.0.

International students who can't meet the English language requirements can take an extended programme, which lasts four terms and includes an English language module.

How to Apply

How to Apply

To apply to a programme at ONCAMPUS Hull, students must:

Step 1 – Fill in and submit the online application form or the downloadable editable application. Students must include all relevant documentation such as academic transcripts and proof of English language proficiency.

Step 2 – The Admissions Team will consider applications and will send an offer letter to successful applications. This will notify the student of any outstanding conditions.

Step 3 – Students can then accept their place on a programme and ensure they meet the outstanding conditions, such as paying the deposit and registration fee.

Step 4ONCAMPUS Hull will then confirm the place and send the student a Confirmation of Acceptance to Study (CAS) or a Confirmation of Enrolment (CoE).

Step 5 – International students who require a visa to study in the UK will have to apply for one. They will not be able to begin the course without the correct visa.

Step 6 – Students will need to pay the first term of tuition fees before they start their programme and arrive the weekend before the commencement date.
