Campbell’s education philosophy is around developing the whole learner – teaching students not only language, but also how to be a good language learner. Academic development goes hand in hand with personal development - learning study skills, time management and critical thinking.
Campbell offers a wide range of programmes and flexibility for students to try different classes. As well as traditional communication-based general English and exam preparation classes, Campbell offers academic preparation for further study, and preparation for job hunting or business communication. Campbell ensures that every student is making progress, no matter what course they are studying, with regular testing and academic reports. Furthermore, every student at Campbell has access to free 1-1 tuition every week – these classes are called Language Workshops. Students can choose their workshop teacher, and can choose what they want to do during their workshop – conversation practice, help with writing, or grammar questions. Campbell also runs extra free workshops after school for motivated students, including pronunciation, spelling and writing. Online, student have access to many free resources including audio books, practice exams, and listening materials.
Campbell Wellington is the largest and oldest English language school in New Zealand’s capital, and is in the heart of city’s vibrant business and entertainment district, only minutes’ walk from Wellington attractions including the national museum, cable car, botanic gardens, Oriental Bay beach, the public library, Cuba Mall and Victoria University.
Campbell’s Auckland campus, is a small, boutique school, and is located in the beautiful Eastern Beaches area, inside Highland Park shopping center. It is close to several high quality local high schools, and in an area with numerous high quality homestay family residences.Students at both campuses can enjoy a busy activities programme with many free daily activities arranged after school – including coffee club, singing club, conversation club and more. Weekend trips include day trips to local attractions, and regular overnight trips to some of New Zealand’s most amazing locations.

Every day of the week The Campbell Institute offers an interesting activity to help you make new friends, practise your English, and to enjoy Wellington city.
The Campbell Institute also organises special one-off activities during the year. With these, you’ll get the chance to discover more about New Zealand - and yourself.
The Campbell students follow Wellington’s local rugby and football clubs. They also follow what New Zealand’s All Blacks are up to! You’ll be able to go to sporting events at Wellington’s stadium all year round.
Students attend classical music concerts as part of our Cultural Activities programme. The Campbell Institute works closely with New Zealand’s top orchestra, the NZSO, which is based in Wellington and offers special prices for our students
